Virtual Big Library Read Starting Now!
(Woodland, CA) – The Yolo County Library is taking part in OverDrive’s Big Library Read program. The mystery eBook, A Pedigree to Die For, book one of the Melanie Travis mystery series by Laurien Berenson, is available to library cardholders through OverDrive, the library’s digital download service, for unlimited checkout during the program period starting now, and running through June 17. To access the eBook for checkout and download, visit the library’s digital media website at http://yolocounty.lib.overdrive.com or found on www.yolocountylibrary.org.
Laurien Berenson is an Agatha and Macavity Nominee, winner of the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award, and four time winner of the Maxwell Award, presented by the Dog Writers Association of America. Publisher’s Weekly calls the book “A bonanza for ardent dog fanciers and for others, a likable heroine in a smoothly paced romantic mystery.”
Library patrons participating in the Big Library Read can engage with other readers by visiting the virtual discussion forum at: https://forum.biglibraryread.com/. There, they will also learn more about the author and her inspiration through a recorded interview that will be made available next week.
“We are excited to be offering this opportunity to the community,” said Yolo County Librarian Patty Wong. “Discussing what we read with other individuals enhances the reading experience. Virtual book clubs can offer a flexible alternative for those who can’t find the time or aren’t able to meet in person.”
The Big Library Read is an international program that gives libraries and library patrons unlimited simultaneous access to a popular title during the program dates, creating a virtual, global book club. Interested patrons will be able borrow A Pedigree to Die For using a valid library card and read it on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Nook®, Android™ phone and tablet, and Kindle® without worrying about wait lists or holds. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period.
