Welcome to the Yolo County Web page for the Zoning Code Update program!

The Zoning Code Update was approved by the Yolo County Board of Supervisors on July 15, 2014.

A PDF file of the adopted Zoning Code Update (approximately 363 pages) is listed below and may be downloaded and printed. The document revises and updates all sections of the existing zoning and associated regulations found in Title 8 of the Yolo County Code. As part of the Update, all properties in the unincorporated area have been rezoned to the appropriate new zoning districts described in the new code.  Maps and lists of all properties that were rezoned are available at the links below.

The Zoning Code Update program began four years ago in early 2010, soon after the 2030 Yolo Countywide General Plan was adopted. State law requires that following the adoption of a General Plan, all zoning and development regulations must also be updated and made consistent with all growth policies in the adopted plan.

Over the last four years, each of the sections of this Public Review Draft of the Zoning Code Update was reviewed and informally approved by the Planning Commission. The County’s citizens advisory committees and other interested parties also received copies of the individual sections of the Zoning Code Update as they were completed. The Board of Supervisors held two workshops and three public hearings, and adopted the new Zoning Code on July 15, 2014.
