The Snowball County Service Area (CSA #6) was established on August 18, 1975 in order to provide extended services to the areas bounded by the Ridge Cut and the Sacramento River, including the town of Knights Landing.
Snowball CSA currently provides repair, operation, control and maintenance of the levees in the above area.
The Snowball CSA is governed directly by the Yolo County Board of Supervisors and controlled by the Department of Public Works. The Board of Supervisors is advised as to the maintenance and operation of the Levee Maintenance District by the Snowball County Service Area Advisory Committee. Currently Planning and Public Works collaborates with the Department of Water Resources and the Reclamation Districts associated with the levees in the surrounding areas, as well as with the Department of Agriculture in order to provide the most comprehensive services.
