eSDR and SDR Electronic Property Statement Filing



eSDR Filing

The eSDR filing system will allow the user to file Business Property Statements one at a time in an electronic format. This system is similar to the process used by individuals when filing their Federal Income Tax return online.  Users of this system will be allowed to save their progress and even print out a copy of their statement.

All established accounts will be sent their Business Identification Number (BIN) on the back side of the cover sheet included with the paper copy of their Property Statement.  Businesses that have been filing via the eSDR service will not receive a paper copy of the Property Statement rather they will receive a single page Notice.

SDR Filing

The Standard Data Record or SDR filing system was designed to simplify the process of filing annual property statements for businesses that have multiple locations in one or more California counties.

The SDR system only accepts Business Property Statements that are filed electronically in the approved XML file format. Programming and/or software are required to create SDR files. The level of taxpayer effort/investment may not be practical for businesses that are filing for a single location.

LOST YOUR BUSINESS IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (BIN)?

Taxpayers who need to request their BIN a second time will need to have their 12 digit account number and submit an "Agent Authorization" form to the Assessor's Office in order to authorize the Assessor to release the Business Identification Number (BIN) to any business OWNER or AGENT.  Agent Authorization forms may be sent in by standard US posted mail, fax (530) 666-8213 or email if the original form has been signed by an authorized person, rescanned and attached to an email.   

Once the Agent Authorization form is received and accepted the BIN request will be processed.  To help speed the process and receive your number in a timely manner, you may contact the Assessor's office at (530) 666-8135 or (916) 375-6496.
