The Yolo County Law Library serves the bench, bar and citizens of Yolo County and surrounding counties. The Law Library is a small-to-medium-sized law library with more than 15,500 volumes. Library use is free to all. There is a deposit requirement for checking out books and materials to take home. The Law Library is a practice library, containing mainly practical materials for attorneys and lay patrons. The library’s skilled professional staff works together to meet the research and information needs of the library’s patrons. The law library’s catalog is not currently on-line. However, patrons are welcome to call or email the law library for assistance in finding the material they need. The law librarians are not able to give legal advice.
- Computers - the law library has four public access computers. Patrons can use the computers for legal research on the library’s subscribed legal database services: Westlaw, CEB OnLaw, and Hein Online. The public access computers also afford access to the internet for other research sites.
- Typewriter and Fax Machine - There is a typewriter available to fill out legal forms. A fax machine is also available for a small fee.
