How does the freeze hold option work? When placing a hold in the library's catalog you can specify that your hold be placed "on ice" and not lose your place in the queue. This can be useful if you are going on vacation or otherwise will be unable find time to read the book. However you must "unfreeze" the hold - it will not automatically become active.
There must be a queue in order to be able to freeze a hold. If the item doesn't have a queue then freezing a hold will not be an option.
If there is an item ready to fill your hold then you will not be able to freeze your hold.
If your hold is already at the top of the hold queue and an item has been flagged to fill your hold then you will not be able to freeze your hold.
Remember to unfreeze any frozen holds you might have or they will expire.
How can I change the way I receive notices from the library?
There are 3 ways we can send notices: via email, telephone or by postal mail. Notices via email or postal mail include the titles of the items involved, while for privacy issues, telephone notices are very general.
Let your local branch staff know your notice preference type when you are at the branch.
If we are unable to contact you through either email or telephone then a printed notice will be sent.
