Access World News/ NewsBank: Access is available to the Daily Democrat, the Davis Enterprise, the Sacramento Bee, The Reporter in Vacaville and both the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner as well as many other California newspapers. Also available are newspapers from other states and countries.  Pronunciator: Pronunciator is a comprehensive self-paced language learning program offering 3 million lessons across 60 languages. Each lesson is accompanied by a native speaker, a culture-neutral pictogram and a translation in your selected language. Subscription donated by Robert Savage in memory of James Steichel.

General OneFile: A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Thousands of full-text articles, many with images. Note: this replaces the General Reference Center Gold database.

Students & Teachers of English as a Second Language offers exercises, quizzes and worksheets offer English translation alongside many foreign languages. It includes additional links, depending on your first language.
TERC : Testing and Education Reference Center is designed to help students - in high school, graduate and specialty school and beyond - make their future education decisions easier. TERC provides information on colleges, technical schools, practice entrance exams, and certification and professional license exams that show students what to expect and how to prepare for the next level. The Resume Builder and Virtual Career Library assist job seekers by providing specific examples and tips for the job search.


Transparent Language  provides access to free resources such as online games, proficiency exams, and downloadable software lessons for a variety of languages. Fees are charged for expanded lessons.
Legal Information Reference Center: Find legal information and forms online, topics include family law, immigration, wills and estates, business law and more. Commonly used forms are included. Access to this resource is courtesy of the Yolo County Law Library. 

Virtual Reference Library: Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of eBooks (electronic books). These are encyclopedias and specialized reference sources on a variety of subjects. You can search all of Yolo County Library's eBooks simultaneously through this link or search the content of our individual eBooks through the links below.
