 Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling & Diversion Ordinance (PDF)

On June 24, 2008, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors adopted a Construction and Demolition (C&D) Ordinance that requires construction, demolition, and renovation projects to dispose of their job site waste in an environmental manner. 

This ordinance is in accordance with Assembly Bill (AB) 939 which requires local jurisdictions to divert 50% of discarded materials from the landfill.  California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) studies show that nearly 22% of all waste disposed of in California is C&D debris.  The County considers the reuse and recycling of C&D debris essential to further compliance with AB939.
