To inquire into the administration of juvenile court law in Yolo County and to assist in the effort toward prevention and reduction of juvenile delinquency, as required by law.
Duties include the annual inspection of the Juvenile Hall, and any jail or locked facility within the county that was used in the preceding calendar year for the confinement for more than 24 hours of any minor, or, any police holding facility in which a minor was held in secure custody. Additionally, the Commission actively assists in the county's effort toward preventing and reducing juvenile delinquency.
Commission meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Yolo County Probation Department, 2780 E. Gibson Rd, Woodland. These meetings are open to the public. Any person having interest or concern regarding the administration of juvenile justice in Yolo County is welcome to attend.

The Commission is comprised of members of the general public who have an interest in the juvenile justice system. Application for membership is made through the Probation Department, with later appointment by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court with the concurrence of the Judge of the Juvenile Court. Members must be residents of Yolo County. Appointments are four (4) years in duration.
